Airmega - Cleaner Air

Environmental Protection Agency recently released an alarming discovery: the air indoors can be 5 times as polluted as the air outdoors. How is that possible you might ask? Well the issue here is that most homes don't have a good air circulation. So all the dust and dirt that we bring in from the outside simply stays in the air and it has nowhere to go. This is not good as we spend the majority of our day indoors!

So what should we do? Well one option is to get an air purifier. There is a large selection of those. There are even smart ones from MiAir and Honeywell that connect to smartphone apps. Those let you control the purification levels from all the way across the room.

Those are okay, they do the job. A Korean company however has taken air purifying to the next level by releasing Airmega, an air purifier that can actually be called smart. I'm not talking about just a tiny bluetooth module attached to it to sync it with your smartphone. Obviously it has that as well. Airmega has actually got built-in sensors that analyse the air in your home and purify it based on the data. This actually makes a huge difference.

What I love about Airmega is that it also saves all the data. So you can view how the air quality has changed over time via a smartphone app. It also sends notifications when you need to clean the purifier.

There are also tiny led lights on the exterior that let you know immediately if the air is polluted or not. For example yellowish-green glow displays that there is low to average quality air inside the room. Blue on the other hand is the cleanest level.

Sadly Airmega isn't out for consumers yet :-(. I managed to see it at this years CES! But they promised to launch it in February so hopefully it will happen in the next weeks! I personally can't wait to get it for my home!
